The MHS Physics class is doing their best impersonation of the Dukes of Hazzard! Using photogates to measure the velocity of a Hot Wheels car they had to predict the point of impact on the ground. The front edge of the blue tape is their prediction. Nothing like some 2-dimensional physics to start off the day!
Sometimes learning requires some destruction. These two members of the Engineering Class built this year’s strongest bridge. The bridges are designed to span a pre-determined gap. The bridges are then loaded with weight until the bridge suffers a catastrophic failure. This winning bridge supported 12.65 kilograms (27.9 pounds). That is almost 120 times more than the weight of the bridge.
